Forehead lines, the glabella between the brows and the periorbital area (crow’s feet) are the classic three. Alongside these: a brow lift, bunny lines, perioral smoker’s lines, lip flip, the upper lip for a gummy smile, the chin (DAO) and platysmal neck bands.

There are non-aesthetic indications too: masseter injections reduce clenching, axillary, palmar and plantar treatment controls excessive sweating, and a migraine protocol is used to lower headache frequency.

Keeping it natural

The "frozen" look comes down to dose and distribution. Rather than switching off the whole frontalis, we target the portion creating the line and preserve brow mobility. The first session uses a conservative dose, with more added at the two-week review if needed — adding is possible, removing is not.

Facial symmetry matters here too. Most people’s brows and eyes are not equal, and giving the same dose to both sides can magnify existing asymmetry. So expression movements are examined individually beforehand and a photographic record kept.

Common questions

Not at a correct dose. Frozenness comes from excess units and poorly chosen points. The aim is not to abolish expression but to soften the excessive contraction that creates the line. We deliberately stay conservative at the first session, review the result together at two weeks and top up if needed.

No — that is a common misconception. When the effect wears off the muscle returns to its previous strength and the lines return to how they were, no worse. If anything, during regular treatment the muscle works less, so static lines deepen more slowly.

The first change is felt between days three and seven, with the full result settling by day fourteen. So for a specific event we suggest scheduling at least two weeks ahead. The review appointment is set to that fourteenth day.

For the first four hours do not lie down, rub the area or exercise strenuously. Avoid sauna, steam rooms and sunbeds the same day. These precautions stop the toxin spreading beyond the target muscle; when they are followed, unwanted effects are rare.
